In early 2019, McAllister Electrical Services closed the book on our most recent commercial renovation project: the complete rehab and renovation of the downtown location of Premier Bank in Dubuque, Iowa.

For 20 years, this bank has grown with the community of Dubuque, helping revitalize historic districts and neighborhoods, support community projects, and fund families and businesses as the city reached for success. In early 2018, the bank’s leaders knew it was time to give their Iowa Street branch an updated, modern look that could grow with the bank into the 21st century, and they chose McAllister Electrical Services to be part of this massive project.

Beginnings

Before starting this project, our team at McAllister Electrical Services worked with the head contractor, designers, and bank personnel to hear their needs and wants in the renovation.

As the electricians on the job, our task was to help make the new building more energy-efficient with long-lasting, low-energy LED light bulbs; run sufficient electrical lines to provide for the technological demands of the bank, its customers, and employees; and to help accent aesthetic features of the redesign.

As Eastern Iowa’s energy-efficient electricians with a keen eye for perfection, we knew this was going to be a fun, fulfilling project to work on.

Middle

In summer 2018, work got underway. The old bank was demoed on both the interior and exterior, making way for an entirely new look for the branch.

The tan stucco exterior was removed and a new metal/wood finish was installed on the building’s facade. Inside, the walls were removed and the new blueprint began to take shape for a central lobby/greeting station, teller station, waiting area, private offices, and conference rooms.

As we worked, we made sure to install plenty of power to all areas of the building to not only power current technology needs, but to plan for growth and advancement in the years to come. As we installed these lines, we kept our focus on clean, straight lines for an orderly appearance and polished finished product. What lies behind the walls is just as important as the beautiful fixtures and accent lights adorning the interior, and we’re proud of what we accomplished at Premier.

Finished Product

In early 2019 the project was complete, and the staff at the downtown branch was able to return to a brand-new bank. Throughout the space, the brand’s colors, modern flair, and hometown details can be found from the limestone accent walls to the welcoming wood desk in the entry way.

Our lighting work is on vivid display in the LED accent lights surrounding the entry, the backlit panels on the new teller line, and the recessed can lights that brighten the interior spaces.
